Acute Practices

IPC Hospitalists practice in the acute setting in more than 400 facilities. Clinicians, in a growing number of specialties, provide excellent inpatient clinical care to their patients, are highly engaged with the facility in which they serve and in the leadership of their own practices. In return, IPC offers expert practice support, stable and growing infrastructure, and professional and financial rewards that are unparalleled in hospitalist medicine. Stated simply, IPC provides our clinicians the ability to practice medicine and manage patients as true drivers of the inpatient delivery system to the long-term benefit of all stakeholders.

IPC Hospitalists in the acute setting include Physicians trained in specialties such as Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Palliative Care, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Psychiatry, practicing with Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant colleagues.

Post-Acute Practices

Today, IPC clinicians practice in over 1,200 post-acute care facilities, including skilled nursing, long-term care, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and rehabilitation facilities. In coordination with the more than 400 acute care hospitals where IPC currently operates, IPC’s post-acute care practices provide a true continuum of care to our patients as they move from one facility type to another throughout their entire episode of care.

IPC post-acute care practices exist to address a number of growing needs:

  • Improving alignment between post-acute and acute facilities for better patient outcomes
  • Promoting successful care transitions
  • Preventing avoidable readmissions
  • Enhancing clinical leadership in facilities which are experiencing a rise in acuity

IPC post-acute care teams include Physicians trained in specialties such as Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Infectious Disease, Ophthalmology, Palliative Care, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry and Wound Care, practicing with Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and Psychologist colleagues.

Behavioral Health Practices

IPC provides psychiatry and psychological services in a growing number of acute and post-acute facilities. Psychiatric Hospitalists provide care in acute settings alongside traditional IPC Hospitalist practices. In post-acute settings, physician-led multidisciplinary teams deliver on-site compassionate care and behavioral interventions to patients, including psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management. IPC is committed to improving the care delivery system throughout the continuum of care, and has been an early leader in this model of care. Our behavioral health practices are growing across the country to meet the increasing needs of post-acute facilities and the patients and families they serve.

IPC Behavioral Health teams include Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, providing integrated care using a collaborative, team approach.
